Here I Am!

Here I am, here I am! No I didn't fall off the earth, I am just a working Mom of twins. I have so much I would love to share, but so little time. It is 7:30 p.m. and the boys start night night bottles at 8 p.m. and right now they are taking a tiny cat nap. Yes, we have a schedule..GASP... I have come to find that some Mother's HIGHLY disagree with schedules while others think it is the only way to go. For us it is the only way to go, and for us IT WORKS! Do I try to hold off one of my children for a bit until the other is hungry or do I sometimes start feeding one before he is starving? Yes I do, but for us feeding at the same time and around the same times each day is the only way to go, otherwise I might be feeding all day long and would never get anything done.

I must be doing something right because I can't remember the last time one of the boys woke up before 6 a.m. Although, I might need to tweak with the schedule soon because Noah is now in need of 6 oz. bottles I do believe. I am hoping we get the go ahead for a bit of rice cereal at our 4 month appt. on Tuesday. Can you believe that.. 4 months!

Today was a good day and happened to be a day off. I went back to work only three days a week for now. Today, my Christmas present from my Dad came. This was visit #1 of 6, she is Martha the housekeeper and I am oficially in love! She cleaned my house from top to bottom and even changed our sheets and did laundry. That meant that when I got home from a fun trip to the park and deli with the boys and my God-Daughter Elianna that I got a chance to relax and cuddle and not worry about what needs to be done. I made a quick dinner and the rest of the night was play time until now when they could no longer play or cuddle and just needed to sleep a bit.

Tomorrow my Grandma will be here watching the boys and then Friday will be their 2nd trip to their wonderful babysitter, Kara.

Work for me is going well, it seems that they are glad to have me back and although I miss my boys, I don't think I would feel complete being a SAHM, something about getting out of the house and feeling appreciated and productive, and a little bit of grown up conversation. Although I KNOW that I couldn't be one of those who worked 50+ hours a week. For now 25 - 30 hours is good for me and the boys are only out of the house two days a week.

So in a nut shell that is where we are, happy, healthy, and smiling. Lots of smiles and laughs going on around here. We got a video camera for Christmas, so some good videos are taking place. Gabe had a pretty nasty cold and I am feeling some of it now too, crossing my fingers that neither Noah or Aaden is next.

Night night bottles start soon, so I better wrap this post up. I plan to post again soon with some pictures of Mima's visit and the boys first time with their cousins. I wish I had some more time... I have 12 topics that I added to the notes of my iphone that I wanted to blog about, so someday I hope I will. For now thanks for the comments, and know that I read your blogs as much as I can, but sometimes just can't find the time to comment because I am using my phone.

Glad to hear you love Martha and that you were able to simply enjoy being a mom and wife and not have to clean. I also plan on putting our baby on a schedule. I will hit you up on advice when the time comes.

Much love to the Hernandez household!

I always tried to remember you must do what works best for you and the babies. People love to give you helpful advice and they will always have their own opinions, but you do what works best for you and your little munchkins. I'm very jealous of Martha. I want a maid too.

I completely understand how you could get so busy with twins. Don't worry about that. I can only imagine the busy life you must have. I'm glad the boys are doing good. Sounds like they are sleeping so well.
Also about the SAHM comment. I feel the same way you do. I miss my son so much every day when I'm at work but staying home almost made me feel depressed. I didn't do anything, I was lazy and felt unaccomplished.

I have always been HUGE on schedules! Having my 2 on a schedule helps me keep my head from spinning... to much, cause we always know what is coming next.

On a side note, on the food thing: Mykah is just over 3 months, and has been eating 6oz for a couple of weeks! And has been eating cereal for the last week or so!! I have such a little porker! haha
